1)  Q Do you accept Interdistrict transfers? What is the procedure? When will I find out if my child has been accepted?
A
We do accept Interdistrict Transfer Requests from students outside our District to come to our schools. These are accepted on a space available basis only. You must reapply each school year if you desire to have your child continue to attend our District. The student must maintain good academic standing, good attendance and proper behavior as determined by the principal of the school of assignment. The agreement is for placement in a regular classroom program only. Special Education placement will require a review of the continuation of the Interdistrict Agreement based on space available and program needed. District transportation is not provided. In the event that classes become overcrowded, students on Interdistrict Attendance Agreements will be required to return to their School district of residence or transfer to another school within the Eureka District which has student space available.

What is the procedure?

You must contact your School District of Residence to obtain an Interdistrict Transfer Request. You will fill out their form. They will have their designee sign and date the release. They will mail the form to the Eureka Union School District. Once received by our District, it is date stamped. This generates your child onto our waiting list for the next school year.

When will I find out if my child has been accepted?

Acceptance into the Eureka Union School District is based on space availability. You may receive a letter of acceptance as early as June or as late as two weeks into the school year. Many people move into and out of the District over the course of the summer. It is sometimes difficult to track down what happened to a student we anticipated was returning. Until we are assured that we are not taking a space from a resident within our community, we can not always approve each request.
2)  Q Do you have daycare on any/each campus? What is available in the community?
A

The Eureka Union School District contracts with STAR. They are a separate entity that rents the facility space from us at our school sites. They manage a before and after school program for the students from our District-grades K - 6. You may contact them at www.starsacramento.org for more information regarding their program. In addition, there are several private facilities within the community. These can be found in the Granite Bay phone book. The District Office also has a list of the local day care facilities that are in the Eureka Union School District.

3)  Q Where can I find more information about Special Education services?
A
