Challenge 21 & College and Career Readiness

The Eureka Union School district recently developed a dynamic vision for the future of our district and community. The visioning process has helped us to refocus on the importance of preparing our students to be college and career ready for  success in the 21st century. This means that in addition to teaching content standards, we also need to help our students to become lifelong learners who are skilled at collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.  Read more…


Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination is a program which provides structured, team problem-solving competitions. Teams are given a wacky, mind-bending challenge with a set of guidelines in which they are to creatively produce a solution. The solutions include some kind of building, design, written, and performance components. Through these challenges, creativity and teamwork are emphasized.  Read more...


Transitional Kindergarten

The Eureka Union School District is proud to be a leader in education and was the first school district in the area to offer the Developmental Kindergarten (DK) program.  For the 2012-13 school year, Transitional Kindergarten (TK), formerly known Developmental Kindergarten, will be offered.  This programs is for students who are not quite ready (either socially or academically) to succeed in a traditional kindergarten class, but appear ready for more than what preschool can offer. The program is very similar to other kindergarten programs, but is taught at a slower pace and offer differentiated instruction. Students have the opportunity for “hands on” learning as well as to learn through play, exploration, and experience. There is a focus on literacy activities, early math concepts, and social and language skill development.  Read more…


English Learners

Our English Learner students are taught by specially certificated staff who have had much supplemental training on how to best meet the varied needs of EL students.  District goals for our EL students are two-fold: to attain competency in English as swiftly as possible, while meeting State Standards for the Core Curriculum. GATE

The Eureka Union School District is committed to a challenging and appropriate educational experience for all students. Multi-Age Program

The Multi Age program is available for children who progress better at their own rate and offers several advantages.  A continuum of simple through more complex material that children can do at their own rates, the opportunity for children to typically stay with the same teacher for two or three years, the opportunity for children to work at developmental levels above or below their abilities, and much more.  Read more…


Spanish Program

The ESF Spanish Enrichment Program is for students in kindergarten through 8th grade and brings world languages to the Eureka Union School District. This enrichment program exposes children to a world language, fosters excitement and interest in a foreign culture, and provides an opportunity for enrichment in offerings not available during the regular school day.  Read more…


STAR Enrichment

STAR Nova offers a variety of high quality extra-curricular classes to families in our communities. The STAR Nova programs are designed to encourage children to explore, grow, encounter the world, and expand their cultural base.  These include exciting classes in the area of:
