Tdap Required Shots

California had more cases of whooping cough (Pertussis) in 2010 than in the past forty years.  A vaccine (Tdap) against this disease is available for older children and adults.  A new law (AB 354) requires that for the 2013-14 school year, all students entering 7th or 8th grade will need proof of Tdap vaccination.  Don’t wait!  Get vaccinated now to be protected against whooping cough.  Please provide the proof of Tdap vaccination to your child’s school health office so that the records can be updated.  Exemptions are permitted for verified medical conditions or personal beliefs.  If you have any questions about this, please contact one of our district school nurses, Lynda Farley, RN or Linda Shank, RN through your school office.
